Genzler Amplification company announced Magellan Preamp. It is an analog bass preamp and direct box. Standard set of functions is on board the device. You can find a mono instrument input, a stereo aux, a line balanced/unbalanced preamp output, a headphone output, a direct xlr output with phantom power protection with a ground button, and a source eq button that toggles input or output equalization. On the front panel there are input and output volume controls, a highpass filter, a 4-band equalizer and 2 contour controls. There are two footswitches: on / off and a switch for Contour sound options. The preamp sounds clean. Price $299.99. This device is suitable for those who like the purest sound and asceticism.
Finally found a bass guitar for true gentlemen. Meet the Lignum Sub Octave Bass. Stop buying 6-string basses, downshifting and fiddling with the scale. Enough tolerating this! Of course, there are experimental, completely unplayable instruments, such as guitars made for Jared Dines or Steve Terreberry, which are in fact only exhibition/marketing samples.
The construction of the Lignum Sub Octave Bass uses different types of wood: laminated maple and walnut with mahogany top in body; and maple and walnut in neck. Lignum chose a multi-scale neck construction. The scale length for the lowest E string is 42 inches, while the highest G string is only 39 inches. (Standard for a bass is a scale of 34 inches). The Octave is fitted with Bartolini pickups and a Bartolini HR-4.6AP/918 preamp. Low E rumbles at just 20.6 hertz.
Sub Octave Bass is the most efficient, convenient, conceptually correct and playable instrument in every sense for adequate money! How many? 2000 € (+25% VAT for European Union).
